About the course
Content
At the course we work with:
- What is sustainability and why is it relevant?
- How the legislation increases the need for reporting on sustainability. How it increases the need to understand sustainability impacts throughout any supply chain or investment opportunity and how to prepare for its implementation.
- The methodological ‘plug-in’, which makes it possible to move from traditional project management or product development – Agile or not – into their sustainable versions. Our ambition is to make the ‘plug-in’ as efficient and manageable as possible.
- How to realize the sustainability ambitions of your organisation – project by project.
- How to determine which effect and which deliverables will result from various projects or product development initiatives.
- How to promote and communicate the sustainability gains inherent in your project/product development.
We do not cover basic disciplines in project implementation nor product development.
Benefit to the participant

- The ability to adapt quickly and efficiently. Clarification of how to frame the project/product development and how to react when a deliverable takes longer to complete than estimated.
- Sustainable agility ensures market adaptability. Enhanced adaptability to adopt to a changing market by integrating sustainability and Agile project management, allowing employees to adjust deliverables based on market conditions or investor expectations.

Sustainability
The 17 SDGs of the UN were designed to help nations increase sustainability. To ensure that corporations are also able to contribute to this goal the UN has established SDG Ambition.
As projects most often take place within an organisation, we use SDG Ambition as one of our primary frameworks for sustainability together with ESG.
Traditionally the most important considerations in undertaking a project or a product development have been financial. Now, the introduction of the UN sustainability goals has expanded these considerations to include environmental, social, financial, partnerships and peace goals.
It is no longer enough to consider the final delivery day as the end of the focus. A large part of the environmental impact is generated by the products delivered. The environmental focus of this course makes it clear that a much more inclusive definition of value, as well as a longer time horizon, is needed.
This wider understanding of impact and the increased time frame increases the number of contributing variables considerably. It is therefore crucial, that the used approach can adapt quickly and efficiently.
Agile Frameworks and Waterfall
This is precisely what Agile frameworks are designed to do. Therefore, we recommend an agile approach like Scrum, Agile Projects or SAFe® for projects and product development. The concept of this course can be used in combination with the above-mentioned agile frameworks as well as waterfall projects.
